Thurles Musical Society

music-society1
Thurles Musical Society was formed in 1950 and has performed a full musical each year since, including a number of years with multiple productions. Affiliated to the Association of Irish Musical Societies, our shows normally run on the week before Easter week, with rehearsals commencing in January and auditions taking place around that time also. Currently, our annual shows take place in The Premier Hall, Thurles and we also undertake various cabarets throughout the year in different venues. We are an all inclusive society and would love to welcome new members for stage, backstage, front of house, hair, make-up, set construction etc. All are welcome – the more the merrier. Our members, and indeed the society itself, have been honoured to have won many national awards down through the years and we constantly strive to maintain the high standards set in the past. Our current officers are: President: Alice O’Brien Vice President: Eidin Sweeney Chairman: Frank Tuohy Secretary: Laura Ryan Treasurer: Antoin O’Brian PRO: Noel Dundon Musical Director: Mary Rose McNally Committee: Mary Butler, Gary Dempsey, Mary Callanan, Peter Donnelly, Siobhan King, Mary Long, Damian Sweeney.
