David Walsh Civil Engineering Ltd.in partnership with Tipperary County Council are undertaking construction works in Liberty Square to enhance the existing square.
The proposed works include the re-configuration of existing carriageway, foot-ways and shared accesses as well as associated drainage, ducting and other ancillary works. Works in relation to the construction of the street car-park is nearing completion with Works in the Main Square due to commence w/c 17th August 2020.
The new car park will provide 95 parking spaces and 5 disabled parking spaces. The works within the Square will be undertaken in a phased manner and the overall works is expected to take approx. 12 months to complete. The initial stage of works in the Square will involve the installation of drainage and service ducting along the center of the existing road between the N62 O’Donovan Rossa Street and the Castle.
Thereafter, the next phase of the works will commence from the South East corner of Liberty Square (at the Castle) and move westwards along the south of the Square in a phased manner.
