Tape Resist Art: Pattern, Colour & Reveal (A3 Watercolour Artwork) 10+

This workshop introduces participants to tape resist techniques using large scale, A3 watercolour paper. Children apply masking tape/Washi tape to create abstract or geometric patterns and then explore colour through washes, layering, and blending. We use fun watercolour techniques like water droppers and salt to gain different textures and experiment.

This process-led approach removes pressure to create a specific image, supports exploration of positive and negative space, and encourages confidence through a reveal moment when the tape is removed.

Takeaway: Each participant leaves with a finished A3 watercolour artwork.
