Wetland Restoration Project

A new wetland restoration initiative, part of the Tóchar project, is calling for public participation by seeking expressions of interest from landowners, communities, and local groups to identify wetland areas for restoration within the EU Just Transition Territory.

Managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and co-funded by the Irish government and the EU, Tóchar offers funding and support for survey work, restoration planning, education, and on-the-ground actions. Participants will receive assistance to restore wetlands, which play a critical role in ecology, climate change resilience, and local communities. Read full press release here.

Applications are open until October 31, 2024, and interested parties can fill out a simple form to begin the process.
