28th Annual Trip to Tipp!
The 28th annual Trip to Tipp will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Ursuline Sports Complex in Thurles. This heartwarming community event offers something for everyone, with a 5km walk, 10km run, and two cycling options, 60km and 120km. Registration for the cycle begins at 8am, with cyclists starting at 9:30am, while registration for the walk and run starts at 10am, with both kicking off at 11:00am. It’s the perfect day to gather your loved ones, pets included, and enjoy some fresh air and exercise, all while supporting a wonderful cause.
More than just a day of fitness, this event raises crucial funds for Vision Ireland, formerly the NCBI, the national sight loss charity. Vision Ireland helps individuals who are blind and visually impaired to live independent, full lives by offering rehabilitation, mobility training, emotional support, and assistive technologies.
At the heart of this event is Billy Shanahan, a local hero who is blind and the driving force behind Trip to Tipp. Billy is a passionate advocate for Vision Ireland and his love for staying active is an inspiration to everyone who knows him. This year, he’ll take part using a special electric tandem bike, gifted to him by the Anner Hotel and Vision Ireland, showing once again that with community support, anything is possible!

Registration for the cycle starts at 8am, and costs €40 per person, with the cycle starting at 9:30am.
Registration for the walk and run starts at 10am, and costs €10 per person, or €20 per family, with both starting at 11:00am.
